Limerick Active Travel Route scoops prestigious prize

THE Childers Road Active Travel Route has won a prestigious prize at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards (ICE).

The scheme from the Active Travel team at Limerick City and County Council secured the award in the ‘Public Realm Up to โ‚ฌ5m’ category.

The Childers Road Public Realm Active Travel Scheme was designed to enhance connectivity and accessibility within Limerick City. The project aimed to improve infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists while integrating active travel routes into the wider city network.

It primarily focused on improving safety, accessibility, and sustainable travel modes for local residents, commuters, students, and businesses.
