Catrin Finch and Aoife Ní Bhriain to play Belltable

Catrin Finch and Aoife Ní Bhriain play Belltable this Friday May 16.

TWO musical powerhouses will come together this Friday May 16 for a spellbinding collaboration – harpist Catrin Finch and fiddler Aoife Ní Bhriain – come together in an extraordinary collaboration that has enchanted listeners across Europe.

A native of Dublin, Aoife Ní Bhriain stands at the forefront of Ireland’s traditional music scene. A masterful fiddle player and an internationally acclaimed classical violinist, her performances weave the intricacy of classical form with the soul of Irish heritage. Across the water in west Wales, Catrin Finch has built an equally illustrious career as one of the world’s leading harpists, pushing the boundaries of her instrument with genre-defying, award-winning collaborations.

Together, Finch and Ní Bhriain form a rare musical alchemy, blending their shared Celtic roots and diverse musical disciplines into a sound that is as stirring as it is original. Their performances are inspired by the bees that journey between Ireland and Wales — a symbol of harmony and connection mirrored in their music.

Their debut album, Double You, has made a significant impact on the international stage, soaring to the top of the iTunes Classical Charts and the World Music Charts Europe, while also earning a strong second-place spot in the Transglobal World Music Charts. Recognised for its artistry and innovation, the album has received nominations for ‘Best Album’ at the 6th RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards and ‘Best European Album’ at the 2024 Songlines Music Awards.
