This year on Sunday 15th June, Limerick Garden Festival will be featuring much educational and also fun gardening elements for old and young. In addition to its plant, garden & food market with traders from all over Ireland, all-day expert talks, Limerick Growing Communities, kids workshops & entertainment, the festival will this year see its first Cookery demonstration.

Chef Tom Flavin, Chairman of the Limerick Food Group said: “It’s a pleasure to have been asked to be the first chef featured at Limerick Garden Festival. I have been watching the festival for a number of years now and it is becoming part of the fibre of our community here in Limerick and also attracts visitors from all over. On the day, I am looking forward to complete the circle of Garden to Plate with a Cookery Demonstration entitled Quick Healthy Cooking from the Garden. Of course organic, local and fresh seasonal produce will be included as well as proteins from local suppliers linked to the Milk Market.”

Festival manager Carmen Cronin said: “Limerick Garden Festival is all about bringing you quality entertainment and education in horticulture and related disciplines. What better fit at the Milk Market than to have our Garden Festival focussed around our Expert talks and demonstrations now expanded by our very first cookery demonstration? I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tom and the Limerick Group Food Group for coming on board with us this year to make this a reality.” She continued by saying: “I am very pleased with our programme this year which will include a Masterclass and a varied talks’ series on stage with fantastic national and international Garden Experts including Colm O Driscoll and Peter Donegan.”

The full festival schedule is now available on the festival website and the Masterclass in Organic Gardening can be booked also. The festival will see a great quality variety of Garden, Craft and Food stalls from Limerick, Cork, Clare and as far as Wexford. There will be kids workshops and entertainment and of course tasty food options.
