INDEPENDENT councillor Jerome Scanlan has called on the Council to implement a management plan at The Demesne in Newcastle West to keep the park safe and clean for its users.
Cllr Scanlan was informed at this month’s area meeting that Arra Development complete weekly maintenance across the park, which includes strimming and litter picking.
The Council explained that its Parks Department manage the main grass cutting and tree maintenance in the park.
Councillors were told that a formal management plan will be drafted on foot of a meeting with all of the relevant stakeholders involved in the management of the Demesne.
