REVENUE officers have seized 149kgs of herbal cannabis in Shannon Airport this (Monday) afternoon.
The illegal drugs, with an estimated value of €2,980,000, were discovered in parcels originating from Canada and destined for an address in Co. Clare.
The discovery was made as a result of routine operations, a spokesperson said. Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing investigations involving organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
