Balloons and banter help business women find their voices

The Network Limerick Event, Find your voice for public speaking took place at the Greenhills hotel, with Eve Stafford, Ellen Lacy, Aishling Finn and Valerie Murphy.

NETWORK Ireland Limerick Branch gathered 40 local businesswomen this month for an energising and interactive public speaking workshop. โ€˜Find your voice for public speakingโ€™ was led by director, writer, actor and radio presenter Shirley Keane, founder of Opera Workshop.

Held in an informal setting with participants in activewear and yoga mats in hand, the workshop focused on helping women project their voices, anchor their breathing, and confidently connect with an audience.

Through playful exercises – including balloons and fun improvisation – attendees were gently brought out of their comfort zones, all while learning practical skills to boost their communication and presentation abilities.

President of Network Ireland Limerick, Eve Stafford, said: โ€œOver the past year, Iโ€™ve really noticed how many of our members carry a real fear around public speaking. I wanted to create a safe, supportive space where we could break this down together and give women practical tips they can apply straight away. Shirley was the perfect person to guide us – and we werenโ€™t afraid to get a little silly along the way and embrace the fun games and activities. Stepping out of your comfort zone and leaving with renewed confidence and self-belief is invaluable in business.โ€
