The patented product, developed and refined over many years, is a heat-stable cream cheese designed to seamlessly integrate into the products of pizza, baking, and meat industries.

Its unique formulation allows for easy handling in both artisanal and automated food production processes, thereby significantly simplifying the utilisation of cream cheese in a wide range of applications.

Harry Lawlor, the founder of HL Commodity Foods, describes the award as “a welcome boost and encouragement of the pursuit of innovation for Irish Food Producer”s.

The innovative heat-stable cheese is particularly well-suited for the stuffed crust pizza industry, a sector where HL Commodity Foods already holds a pivital position, supplying functional cheese products to two of Europe’s largest pizza manufacturers.

The uplift in the company’s confidence emanating from the already strong industry interest, has, in consequence, led HL Commodity Foods to bring forward plans to expand their manufacturing facilities in Limerick.

“In the meantime, it may be necessary to undertake production overseas to gain market share, but equally importantly to give impetus to overcoming the hurdles inherent in the path of procuring planning permission<” said Harry.

HL Commodity Foods currently employs more than 20 skilled individuals, providing valuable permanent jobs. Once production is relocated to, employment will double at itโ€™s Hospital plant.

Founded by Harry Lawlor in 1985, HL Commodity Foods has a 40-year history of exporting high-quality Irish food products across Europe and to the United States with a total value of in excess of half a billion.
