Shels’ win Calvert Cup

Shelbourne, winners of the Division 1B League and Cup double.

IMPACT substitute Daniel Collins grabbed the only goal as Shelbourne emerged merited victors against Newport in the Calvert Cup (Division 1B) Cup Final at Jackman Park.

He netted around the hour mark following a fine build-up movement that involved both Luke Doherty and Adam McGlynn.

Shel’s were also recently promoted to Division 1A for next season.

Meanwhile, Coonagh United shocked Ballynanty Rovers in the Division 2A Lipper Cup Final.

Star performer Shane Finucane (2), Calum O’Hanlon, Cian Punch and Scott McGuire all scored for Pike in the closing half, one in which half-time replacement Aaron Cusack was exemplary.
