Headzy Bop back to their roots

Headzy Bop, a house music collective founded by Irish expatriates now living in Australia, is making a much-anticipated return to where it all began – for one special night at Dolan’s Kasbah this Saturday June 7.

Created by Limerick native Intka and shaped by his experiences in Melbourne and the Gold Coast, Headzy Bop is far more than just a party. It’s a movement rooted in connection, creativity and community. With a reputation for secret-location gigs, high-fidelity sound, pop-up sessions in unusual spaces, deep minimal grooves, and their iconic custom-built mobile stage – affectionately dubbed The Boogie Buggy – the collective has been steadily cultivating a loyal following and a distinct identity.

“Growing up in Limerick, Dolan’s was one of the few venues offering quality electronic music,” says Intka, the driving force behind Headzy Bop. “Nights like D.I.E. and Macronite gave us our first real taste of the scene that would go on to shape our lives. Coming back to host an event there feels like a full-circle moment. We’re excited to bring our evolved sound and energy back to the place that first inspired us.”

This homecoming event promises an evening of deep minimal tech, chunky house and rolling basslines – delivered with warmth, soul and that unmistakable Headzy Bop vibe. Aimed at true music lovers, the night invites a crowd who are in it for the sound, the experience, and the sense of togetherness.

With its roots in the Australian bush and a growing transcontinental community spanning Ireland and Australia, Headzy Bop is carving out inclusive spaces where everyone is welcome. Their finely tuned music programming is always complemented by an atmosphere of fun, joy and laughter – the true hallmarks of the Headzy Bop spirit.

Bailiu baile with Headzy Bop happens this Saturday June 7 at Dolans Kasbah.
