A TOTAL of 2,424 applicants are currently on Limerick City and County Council’s housing waiting list in the Metropolitan District (Limerick City).
In response to a question from Social Democrats councillor Elisa O’Donovan at the monthly area meeting for May, councillors were informed by the Council executive that 61 applications have been on the list over 15 years.
A total of 238 applicants have been on the list between 10 to 15 years, and a further 414 between five and 10 years.
1,711 applicants have been on the waiting list for five years or less.
