
TWO men were due to appear before Limerick District Court this Monday morning (June 9), charged in connection with a shooting and seizure of a firearm and ammunition in Limerick City.
The men were arrested as part of investigations into shots fired at a house in Thomondgate at around 5am last Friday (June 6).
โGardaรญ responded to reports of shots fired at a residential property and a disturbance in the Thomondgate area of Limerick. Damage was caused to the exterior wall of the building and several shotgun casings were recovered during a search of the scene,โ said a Garda spokesman.
The area was preserved for a technical and a forensic examination and subsequent searches carried out by Gardaรญ of private dwellings and outdoor spaces in Limerick โled to the recovery of a firearm (sawn-off shotgun), ammunition and items of clothingโ.
โTwo adult males, both in their 30s, were arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at a Garda station in County Limerick.
โBoth individuals have since been charged in connection with the investigation and are due to appear before Limerick District Court this morning, Monday, 9th June 2025.โ
