
TWO men have been arrested and almost €30,000 in drugs has been seized following a Garda investigation into gunfire in Limerick City on May 8.
Gardaí this Tuesday (June 10) confirmed that the two – a man in his 20s and a man in his late teens – were arrested earlier today in relation to a shooting in the Hyde Avenue area of Limerick City on Thursday May 8.
A statement from An Garda Síochána confirmed that, during the course of the arrest operation, “suspected controlled drugs with an estimated street value in excess of €28,000” were seized at a home in Limerick.
The operation was carried out by Gardaí from the Limerick Crime Functional Area, and the two men are currently being detained at Garda stations in Limerick under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
