New EP from Post Punk Podge & The Technohippies

THE new EP from PPP&TT drops on Friday June 20. Pre save available on Spotify and bandcamp. The four tracks see the band expand on their musical soundscape. It features two instrumentals, โ€˜The Plassey Airโ€™, a lovely lilting piece of fiddle playing from PPP backed by the band (Mr. The Boom is Back and DJ Carey on various instruments, including live drums to great effect) while โ€˜One For Kimโ€™ has rich in jazzy, post-rock, prog-rock flavours.

โ€˜Reheated Beefโ€™ leans into PPPโ€™s hip hop influences while โ€˜Johnny Terpintineโ€™ (an ode to about a man who is addicted to sniffing turpentine and the effects this has on him) is more akin to the sound of the bandโ€™s live onslaughts – its a banger riding along on a big guitar riff – itโ€™s about as pop song as PPP gets without losing any of their trademark snarl. Itโ€™s terrific stuff.

The band play Puc Fada stage at 1.45am at Beyond the Pale on Saturday June 14;

Craoi stage at Electric Picnic on Saturday August 30 at 2.30am and a Music for Palestine Show in Record Room on Thursday July 17. ย  ย
