CARRIGMORE Freya secured a second Sporting Press Online Edition Irish Oaks title for trainer Graham Holland with a stunning display of front running.

Freya, daughter of Droopys Sydney and Carrigmore Dizzy, won the €25,000 to the winner competition, in an impressive 28.17 in front of a big crowd at Dublin’s Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium.

Owned by Nora Coffey, Doon, and bred by her husband Pat and daugther Aoife, she showed some incredible early pace to get clear and lead home a convincing winner 7 lengths ahead of Sadies Lucy in second.

The Oaks is the premier competition for ladies in Irish Greyhound Racing, having run as a Classic since 1932.
