Gaelscoil an Ráithín.

GAELSCOIL an Ráithín underlined its wellbeing at underage level with great victories for its boys teams.

The boys were winners at both city and county level in hurling and football.

Oisín Purtill and Éanna Hehir were the capable captains.

In the recent Leader Cup final, Gaelscoil edged out Lisnagry, 0-7 to 1-3, following a terrific tussle.

Under principal Michele Ní Fhátharta, there has been a strong emphasis placed on gaelic games within the school’s environs.

This has been aided by the dedication of teachers Eoin Ó Culáin and Máirtín Mac Piarais, a nephew of the legendary former JFK Memorial school principal Liam Ó Riada (Bill Reidy), an early coach of so many future great county players with Limerick.

Invaluable to the school has been the support of Mungret St Paul’s, and competition leaders such as Brother James Dormer and Joe Lyons.
