OVER €30,000 in funding has been dedicated to support three projects in Limerick under the Heritage Council’s 2025 Community Heritage Grant Scheme.
Askeaton Civic Trust will receive €13,664 to support the development of a virtual tour of Askeaton Castle.
€13,356 is allocated to the Doon Historical and Literacy Society to dismantle, restore, re-locate and instal a historc pipe organ from the Convent of Mercy Chapel to St Patrick’s Parish Church in Doon.
While €4,887 will be invested in Ballyhoura Development CLG across multiple counties, including Limerick.
In 2024, the scheme funded the Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum to catalogue its Maureen O’Hara collection, West Limerick Resources Group to train and support the Rathkeale Travelling Community and the Ballingarry Development Association were funded to conserve works to The Neville Monument.
