IRELAND’S largest community awards will be hosted by Limerick City and County Council later this year.

Hundreds of delegates are set to travel to the Strand Hotel on November 7 for the IPB Pride of Place awards, an annual competition organised by peace-building charity Co-operation Ireland and sponsored by IPB Insurance.

Dr Brendan O’Regan, a transformative figure in the Mid West region, founded Co-operation Ireland in 1979 as Co-operation North, to foster cross border links.

The IPB Pride of Place awards were established to promote and celebrate the best in community development.
