Praise for introduction of autism-friendly parking spaces in Limerick parks

A total of eight spaces have been designated across three popular local parks: Mungret Park (four); Castletroy Park (two), and Shelbourne Park (two).

CITY West representative Cllr Daniel Butler (FG) has welcomed the introduction of autism-friendly parking spaces in several key Limerick parks, a move aimed at making public spaces more inclusive and accessible for those with autism.

A total of eight spaces have been designated across three popular local parks: Mungret Park (four); Castletroy Park (two), and Shelbourne Park (two).

“This initiative was inspired by a thoughtful suggestion from a local parent, and I’m absolutely thrilled to see it come to life,” said Cllr Daniel Butler.

“Creating a more welcoming environment for autistic individuals and their families is something I feel strongly about, and I hope this small step will make a big difference in making our parks more accessible to everyone.”
