BALLYNANTY Rovers emerged winners of the Over-40s Soccer Tournament at a well-presented Janesboro FC.
In the Christy Ryan Memorial Cup final, Rovers were clear-cut victors against Shelbourne, with the goals from Man of the Match Bobby Griffin (2), Ray McMahon, and Colm O’Mahoney.
Balla’s Brian Doran was named Player of the Tournament.
Interestingly, to reach the final, the eventual winners needed penalties to overcome Geraldines in the opening round and Regional United in the semi-final. Rovers’ Keith Fitzgerald scored the only goal in a close quarter-final tussle with Southend.
