Limerick-based poet D’or Seifer was one of five featured writers in the launch of the Irish Writers Centre’s new Writers Showcase series recently announced at a launch at the Irish Writers Centre in Dublin. The event celebrated newly published poets from across Ireland. D’or gave a standout reading from her debut collection, On Being Un/Able to Walk Through Walls (Revival Press), to a full house. Her participation highlights the strength of the literary scene in Limerick and her growing national profile as a poet, editor and series organiser.

Founded in 1991, the Irish Writers Centre is Ireland’s leading resource and development organisation for writers. Its vision is to support the life of the writer, recognising the impact writers have in illuminating society with their ideas and words.

The Writers Showcase event was hosted by Damien B. Donnelly, Creative Projects Coordinator at the Irish Writers Centre.

“Ireland is bursting with poetic diversity and to gather these talented poets in one room reading from new collections is a privilege for the Centre. We are hopeful that the Writers Showcases will become a regular series, celebrating all forms of writing from all corners of the country,” said Donnelly.
