
THERE were a total of 45,608 patients treated at injury clinics in the Mid West last year.
St John’s Hospital in Limerick City, along with Ennis and Nenagh, is now operating extended opening hour for treating non-life-threatening emergencies such as fractures, burns, and cuts.
According to information provided at the recent meeting of the Health Forum West, 17,442 of those patients were treated in St John’s.
May saw the highest number of attendances at the city clinic with 1,705 patients treated.
In Ennis in 2024, there were 16,037 patients treated at the injuries clinic while 12,129 were looked after in the facility in Nenagh.
