Rise in new car registrations in Limerick so far this year

THERE has been a six and a half per cent rise in new car registrations in Limerick during the first six months of this year.

2,658 new car registrations were recorded from January to June this year, compared to 2,494 during the same time last year.

New electric car registrations are also on the rise this year with 363 in the first six months of the year.

That’s compared to 258 units during the first half of 2024.

Nationally, new car registrations for June were up 63.5 per cent  when compared to June 2024.

Registrations year to date are up 3.5 per cent on the same period last year.
