
THE globally acclaimed band Train is set to make its Limerick debut at King Johnโs Castle this Monday 7. Ticket holders can look forward to hearing some of their massive hits โHey Soul Sisterโ, โDrops of Jupiterโ, โDrive Byโ, โMarry Meโ and โ50 ways to say goodbyeโ to mention a few.
With over 10 million albums and 30 million tracks sold worldwide, Train is a household name in the music world. The band boasts an impressive legacy, including three GRAMMY Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, and a slew of other accolades. Known for their genre-defining music, Train has placed 14 songs on Billboardโs Hot 100 chart and 13 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.
Trainโs story began in 1994 in San Francisco, where the original five-member band steadily built a local following. Their big break came in 1998 with the release of their self-titled debut album under Columbia Records. The albumโs standout single, โMeet Virginia,โ became an unexpected radio hit and set the stage for greater successes.
In 2001, the band skyrocketed to fame with โDrops of Jupiterโ, their multi-platinum album led by the double-GRAMMY-winning title track. The single spent 10 months on the Top 40, achieved RIAA 7x platinum certification, and won the GRAMMY Award for Best Rock Song.
