A GLAMOUR pre-season friendly between Munster and Biarritz Olympique has been cancelled.
In a statement, Munster Rugby confirmed “that the province’s pre-season friendly against Biarritz Olympique on Friday August 22nd has been cancelled by the Basque club”.
“Biarritz Olympique informed Munster Rugby this week that due to a delay to pitch renovations at the Stade Aguilera, they are unable to host Munster Rugby for this pre-season fixture.
“Munster Rugby and Biarritz Olympique explored alternative venues in the hope that the match could be fulfilled, but no viable and workable solutions were found.”
The statement concluded that “given the disappointing decision by Biarritz Olympique, Munster Rugby will now make alternative arrangements regarding pre-season preparations.”
Munster are at Gloucester on September 5 and host Bath in Cork on September 12.
