SHANNON Airport has announced its newest step toward inclusive travel with the opening of a fully operational Changing Places Toilet facility.
Situated in the airport’s departures area, the facility is the first of it’s kind, ensuring people with complex care needs are supported to travel through the airport.
It includes a height-adjustable adult-sized changing bench, an overhead hoist system, centrally placed toilet, accessible shower, and a washbasin.
The facility has been built in accordance with National Disability Authority and the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design guidelines for Changing Places Toilets.
