Katie Boyle returns home with a bold and brilliant new show: Roe v. Wade Versus Katie

Fresh from a string of sold-out gigs across Ireland last summer, Irish-born, US-based comedian Katie Boyle is set to light up the city this week with her brand new stand-up hour: Roe v. Wade Versus Katie. Taking to the stage at Dolans on Thursday July 10, Boyle promises an evening of razor-sharp, darkly funny, and deeply personal comedy.

The new show draws from Boyle’s life as an Irish woman living in America, grappling with issues both intimate and political. From abortion rights and long-distance love, to Saint Brigid, Irish history, and the culture clash between Ireland and the States — nothing is off-limits. With her trademark mix of warmth and no-nonsense honesty, Katie invites the audience into her world, where the personal really is political.

Speaking about the new material, Boyle describes it as her most personal work yet. “It’s about the things that keep me up at night — how we try to live, love and stay sane in a world that feels increasingly mad. But I promise, you’ll laugh,” she says.

If you’ve been following Boyle’s rise, you’ll know she’s no stranger to turning life’s messiest moments into comedy gold. Her debut album and special I’ll Do It Myself, released in 2023 through Pinch Records, soared to #1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts, with the special clocking up over half a million views on YouTube. Since then, she’s headlined clubs across the US and Ireland, been featured in The Hollywood Reporter, Irish Independent and The Irish Times, and performed at festivals including Laughing Skull, Women in Comedy and Kansas City Irish Fest.

Boyle also curates and hosts a hugely popular Irish comedy night at New York’s Dead Rabbit, flying in Irish comedians to perform stateside — a passion project that’s been selling out since 2023. When she’s not gigging, she’s hosting The Shift podcast (think sex, dating and Irish craic), creating exclusive comedy content for OFTV and OnlyFans (all laughs and comedy material), and collaborating with brands like MTV, Sundance and LadBible on fresh, funny sketches.

Roe v. Wade Versus Katie sees Boyle at the top of her game — fearless, funny and unflinchingly honest. Whether you’re a fan from the start or discovering her for the first time, this is one show you won’t want to miss.
