Man arrested following road crash to appear in court on suspicion of driving while intoxicated

A MAN arrested following a road crash has been charged and remanded on station bail to appear in court on suspicion of driving while intoxicated on a road in County Limerick.

The man was arrested after Gardaí responded to a single vehicle collision on the R512 road between Bruff and Kilmallock.

A statement provided by Gardaí read: “Gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of a single-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the R512 at Cullamus, County Limerick, at approximately 8.50pm, Tuesday, 8th July 2025.”

The road was closed to allow Gardaí carry out an examination of the scene and to allow emergency services control of the scene.

Gardaí said that “no injuries were reported”.

“The driver, a male aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving while under the influence of an intoxicant,” the statement continued.

“He has since been charged and is expected to appear before Kilmallock District Court at a later date.”
