Neptune Blood release a blistering industrial-psychedelic track rooted in resilience

Neptune Blood - Ronan Mitchell, Morgan Nolan, Manolis Pates, Shane Serrano, Kieran J. Sims and Damien Moore.

NEPTUNE Blood, a new Irish outfit with deep music scene and Limerick roots, are making some serious psychedelic noise with their new single ‘Best Laid Plans’  out Monday July 14  across all streaming platforms.

A new yet strangely nostalgic listen, ‘Best Laid Plans’ is an industrial stomp built on relentless basslines and blissed-out backing vocals, climaxing in a swirling, psychedelic haze. It’s the kind of track that grips you by the collar, drags you onto the floor, and leaves your head spinning – in the best way.

Recorded at Wanderland Studio with Ben Wanders (of Kneecap and The Scratch fame) on production duties, the track is as much about resilience as it is about preparation.

The lyrics hit home: you can plan all you like, but life has a habit of pulling the rug when you least expect it. The message? Pick yourself up and keep going.

Neptune Blood knows that lesson all too well. Veterans of acts like Fox Jaw and The Hip Neck Blues Collective, the six-piece – Ronan Mitchell, Morgan Nolan, Manolis Pates, Shane Serrano, Kieran J. Sims and Damien Moore – have weathered the highs and lows of the indie music scene. Their past bands may be in the rear-view, but they’re still here, still making music, and crucially, still together.

Frontman Ronan Mitchell sums it up: “It’s about rolling with the punches, adapting when the wheels come off — because they will, sooner or later. Or as Tyson put it: everyone’s got a plan ‘til they get punched in the mouth.”

The video is a self-shot trippy visual journey packed with camera effects, lo-fi projections and enough strobe action to warrant a photosensitive warning.
