UPWARDS of 50,000 Irish music fans flocked to Thomond Park over two nights in the Treaty City this past weekend for a farewell to one of Ireland’s most enduring traditional bands.
The Wolfe Tones played their two final farewell shows at Limerick’s Thomond Park last Friday and Sunday night – though there have already been talks of ‘one more tune’ at Croke Park next summer.
The band’s final performance lasted more than two and a half hours at Thomond Park, finishing just after 11pm on Sunday.
