GALWAY based Cat Turner is the latest artist to release music on Limerick record label SASP Records. The new single is ‘Take It Out On Someone Else.’ Honest and direct, it’s exactly what the title suggests: getting hurt, and misplacing that hurt on others.
“It’s not a song with a hidden message,” says Cat Turner. “I was hurt by someone who should have known better, and I ended up taking that out on other people—including myself.”
Despite its emotional weight, Turner describes the song’s breakdown as one of her favourite things she’s ever written. “It’s quite an old song now, but I always come back to it. I’m always honest, but this one really calls me out. It makes me laugh—like when a friend gives you that look, and you just go, ‘Yeah, I know.’”
Musically, the track pairs soft, flowing synths with a raw emotional undercurrent that never feels forced. It’s a subtle reflection on anger, misdirection, and the kind of uncomfortable truth you only admit when you’re ready. It feels expansive yet intimate—a song you can dance to, or sit still with.
