
AN UNSUSPECTING man was arrested on the outskirts of Limerick City after he was caught with cocaine and €1,000 in cash while driving a car that had no lights on as a learner driver with no accompanying licensed driver.
According to a statement posted on the An Garda Síochána Limerick Facebook page, the man was stopped on Monday July 14 travelling along the Ballinacurra Road in Dooradoyle when Gardaí spotted him on the phone while driving.
When they searched the car, Gardaí discovered cocaine, bags they suspect to have been for cocaine supply, and €1,000 in cash.
The unaccompanied learner driver was arrested and his vehicle was seized.
Gardaí confirmed that the man will appear before the courts at a later date.
