LIMERICK IN PHOTOS: National Day of Commemoration

A National Day of Commemoration ceremony was held at Merchantโ€™s Quay this past Sunday (July 13) to honour Irish people who died in past wars on on service with the United Nationals and other organisations in the service of peace.

The ceremony marked the 13th year the ceremony was hosted by Limerick City and County Council.

There was singing from the Curraghgower Singers, speakers from the Catholic Church, the Church of Ireland, Methodist Church, Quakers, and Islamic community, including Bishop of Limerick Brendan Leahy.

A wreath was laid by Prรญomh Chomhairleoir of Limerick City and County Council, Cllr Catherine Slattery.
