Back-to-school allowance on the way for Limerick families this week

MORE than 6,618 families in Limerick will receive a Back-to-School Clothing and Footwear Allowance from this week.

The payment from the Department of Social Protection is designed to support eligible families with the cost of school uniforms and footwear ahead of the upcoming school term.

The rates of payment for the Back-to-School Clothing and Footwear Allowance are โ‚ฌ160 for children aged 4 to 11, and โ‚ฌ285 for children aged 12 years and over in second level education.

Minister of State at the Department of Justice and County Limerick TD Niall Collins said: “These payments are a really welcome help to eligible families in meeting the costs associated with children starting and returning to school.”
