A NEW pilot route for a Friday and Saturday evening Local Link Service is set to serve communities across the south of County Limerick.
The new route will provide connection to Kilfinane and onward connectivity to Kilmallock, Charleville, and extended villages in the area with two additional bus times at 7.10 pm and 9.10 pm each evening.
The route will also offer connectivity to the Bus รireann 329 bus route, which travels to Limerick City.
In total, there will be 12 stops alternating between a number of locations across Kilmallock (Glenfield Housing Estate and AIB Bank), Bulgaden (Lounge and Restaurant and O’Meara’s Shop), Martinstown (The Church), and Kilfinane outside the Ballyhoura Offices.
Fianna Fรกil Minister of State and Limerick TD Niall Collins said: “There is no doubt that the communities in Buldagen, Martinstown, and Kilfinane will use this new route as they have expressed a growing demand for it. I look forward to this being further expanded once the pilot phase of this project is completed.”
“This new evening service will cater people wishing to do basic tasks like shopping along with others who may wish to socialise later into the evening. Local Link Limerick Clare have provided our county with a fantastic service providing many new non-traditional routes for people to use which are proving very popular,” Minister of State Collins added.
The service will be an interim measure while demands for the services are re-evaluated in the area, with further or permanent updates to the route expected in 2026.
