A NEW title sponsor has been announced for the Irish St Leger Classic at Limerick.
The Callaway Pro-Am at Stud Irish St Leger will kick off with the first round on Saturday (July 19), culminating in what is anticipated to be a thrilling final on Saturday August 9.
The classic 550-yard event is open to AAO grade greyhounds, with the winner set to claim an impressive €30,000 prize.
A cornerstone of Irish greyhound sport, the St Leger was inaugurated in 1932 at Celtic Park, Belfast. Initially rotated among prominent tracks including Clonmel, Shelbourne Park, and Harold’s Cross, the race found its permanent home at Markets Field in Limerick in 1944.
Today, it continues its proud legacy at the modern Limerick Stadium on the Dock Road, drawing top-class competitors and enthusiasts from across Ireland.
