New sponsor of Irish St Leger Classic at Limerick

A NEW title sponsor has been announced for the Irish St Leger Classic at Limerick.

The Callaway Pro-Am at Stud Irish St Leger will kick off with the first round onย Saturday (July 19), culminating in what is anticipated to be a thrilling final onย Saturday August 9.

The classic 550-yard event is open to AAO grade greyhounds, with the winner set to claim an impressive โ‚ฌ30,000 prize.

A cornerstone of Irish greyhound sport, the St Leger was inaugurated in 1932 at Celtic Park, Belfast. Initially rotated among prominent tracks including Clonmel, Shelbourne Park, and Haroldโ€™s Cross, the race found its permanent home at Markets Field in Limerick in 1944.

Today, it continues its proud legacy at the modern Limerick Stadium on the Dock Road, drawing top-class competitors and enthusiasts from across Ireland.
