KEY Limerick players – Sรฉamus Flanagan and Tom Morrissey – will be on television punditry duty for Sundayโs novel All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final between Cork and Tipperary at Croke Park.
Radiologist Flanagan debuted last season with the BBC, and won many admirers for his forensic analysis of happenings.
The Feoghanagh star is again on the panel for coverage of the decider by the Northern Ireland broadcaster.
Morrissey made his first appearance on RTรโs flagship The Sunday Game the other weekend, and among the first duties for the figures expert (chartered accountant by profession) was a take on the โscoregateโ saga of the semi-final win by Tipperary over Kilkenny.
Multiple All-Star Morrissey believes Cork will deliver a long overdue All-Ireland Leeside at the weekend.
Said Morrissey: โI think itโs going to be a high-scoring game; both teams would like that. Itโs going to be a bit of a shoot-out, as both sets of forwards are fit, quick and all good stick players, all well able to play. Cork have won the League and Munster, so Iโm going to go with Cork, just ever so slightly.โ
โI do think too that itโs going to be a very good match.โ
Former Limerick ace Niall Moran will be involved on the radio front with 2fmโs Game On.
On his take of the final, Moran said: โThe real weight of expectation is going to be on one team and one team only and thatโs Cork.โ
โIf Cork are only a point or two up, with 10 minutes left, how will the psychology of that work for them? Whose camp would you prefer to be preparing for? I definitely think Liam Cahill (Tipperary manager) has all the aces up his sleeve in terms of that.โ
โCan Tipp bring that level of performance and a little bit extra? Itโs not beyond them.โ
