Leger underway at Limerick

THE curtain rose on the valuable Callaway Pro-Am @ Stud Irish St. Legerย Classic at Limerick Greyhound Stadium with a thrilling display of top-class racing, and it was Toolmaker Josepeย who stole the spotlight with a standout comeback performance.

Trained by Robert Gleesonย and owned by William Hyslop, Toolmaker Josepe roared back to form in style (29.68 seconds).

Defending champion Clonbrien Treatyย also made his long-awaited return and looked every inch a serious contender for a historic three-in-a-row.

He finished second to Philip Buckleyโ€™s Blastoff Cooper in 29.73.

Treaty is trained in Tipperary by Graham Holland and owned by the Murphy family of Athlacca.

A blend of seasoned stars and exciting prospects have already set the tone for what promises to be a gripping Leger, one which continues next Saturday night.
