A NEW radio programme from a well-known member of Limerick’s opera scene will soon hit the airwaves.

Evening Song with Shirley Keane will be broadcast on RTÉ Lyric FM from 6pm on Sunday July 27.

The show will run for 10 weeks with the regular Lyric presenter and active participant in Limerick’s opera scene at the helm.

Ahead of its airing, Shirley has described the programme as “the aperitif to your Sunday evening, sparkling and light, with emotional moments too”.

“In an often challenging and fast-paced world, listeners can tune in for refuge, rest, and relaxation on a Sunday evening, with great songs that stand the test of time, from exquisite airs to simple tunes.”
