WITH just a month to go, The Big Day Out has added a major name to its already glittering line-up—none other than BASSHUNTER, the Swedish dance music icon who dominated Irish charts in the noughties.

Set to take place on Saturday August 23 at TUS Gaelic Grounds, Limerick, The Big Day Out promises to be the ultimate throwback party of the summer. Basshunter will join a stacked roster of beloved 90s and 00s artists including Blue, Peter Andre, Whigfield, Heather Small, DJ Sash!, Ntrance, Tall Paul, and Mark McCabe.

Best known in Ireland for his chart-topping anthem “Now You’re Gone”, which held the #1 spot for an impressive five weeks in 2008, Basshunter has maintained a strong connection with Irish fans. He recently performed at The 2 Johnnies’ sold-out Pints in a Field show, and his colourful exploits across the country often feature on their popular podcast.

Speaking from Budapest, Basshunter said, “I just do better shows and have the best time when I come to Ireland… the crowd reaction is always bigger and better—as is the afterparty.”

With a repertoire that includes “All I Ever Wanted”, “Angel in the Night”, and several international hits, Basshunter will take to the main stage for a high-energy set of dancefloor favourites that defined a generation.

The day will be hosted by the legendary Mark McCabe, who may well treat the crowd to his own classic “Maniac 2000”. With more acts still to be announced, the return of the Silent Disco, new areas, extra bars, more toilets, and a fresh site layout—The Big Day Out 2025 is shaping up to be unmissable.
