THE new ALDI store on Roches Street in Limerick City opened today (Thursday) to great fanfare, providing 30 new jobs in the heart of the city centre.

A number of familiar and famous faces were on hand to help cut the ribbon, including Munster and Irish rugby star Dave Kilcoyne, with young players from St Bridgetโ€™s National School.

New store manager Ian Dawson also welcomed Senator Maria Byrne, TDs Conor Sheehan and Maurice Quinlivan, and local councillors Daniel Butler and Peter Doyle.

The opening marks Aldiโ€™s fourth store in Limerick, following the opening of its first location on Childers Road in 2006.
