THE curtain will fall on another successful Limerick Interfirm Football (LIF) season with its finals night at University of Limerick South Campus this Friday (July 25).
The line-ups for the Shield, Plate, and Cup finals were confirmed at the outset of the week.
Interestingly, both Cup semi-finals were only decided via penalty shoot-outs, with Bay Enterprises (Crossagalla) and Pro Energy Retrofit (Old Clare Street) both coming through against Edwards Lifesciences and H&F Electrical, respectively.
The final is timed for 7.30pm (Pitch Three).
Into the Shield Final are NetCore Solutions (Clarina) and Atlantic Aviation (Shannon), following respective clear-cut wins against Three Ireland and Virgin Media.
Kick-off is 6.30pm (Pitch Three).
The Plate final will involve Eir and Limerick Accountants, who book their places after victories against TLI Group (Crecora) and BD (Casletroy), respectively.
The start is 6.30pm (Pitch Two).
In all, 20 teams participated in 2025.
In a lovely gesture, finals night is a fundraiser for Limerick Mental Health Association (LMHA).
Ian Hackett, manager with LMHA, will be in attendance to present the trophies to the three winning captains.
โIt has been another good tournament, very competitive,โ commented LIF committee member Steven OโConnell.
โThere is always strong interest from across the business community and that was no different this time around. Weโre now hoping for three lively finals and that the various teams will bring strong support and help-out our friends in Limerick Mental Health Association.โ
LIF was established in 2019.
LMHA was founded in 2002 by a group of individuals who recognised the need for support and resources for those affected by mental health challenges in the local community.
Since then the association has worked toย raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote positive mental healthย through a variety of programmes and initiatives.
It is based at 3 Sexton Street (walk-ins Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) and is contactable at 061 446 786.
