The current period breakdown, from April to June 2025, includes 12 apartments, 80 single houses, and 133 scheme houses (suported by government schemes or funding, such as the First Home or Affordable Purchase Scheme).

Across the second quarter of this year, according to CSO stats, 40 new homes were completed in the Newcastle West municipal district, 40 in Adare Rathkeale, 31 in Cappamore Kilmallock, 68 in the City East District, 43 in City West, and just three in City North.

Reacting to the newly published figures, the Housing Minister said that โ€œsupply is central to dealing with all the key challenges in housingโ€, adding that the newly-published figures are โ€œa welcome development and will be of huge benefit to the families and individuals who will live in these homesโ€.

โ€œNonetheless, this government remains committed to achieving its ambitious housing targets and I am determined to accelerate the pace of delivery to ensure even more substantial progress in the period ahead,” he said.

โ€œThere is no single solution to our housing challenges, a multi-faceted approach is required. This is why this government has implemented planning reforms to extend permissions for developments approaching the end of their timeframe, introduced targeted measures to increase rental supply and attract investment in the residential sector, and rolled out new supports to assist both prospective homebuyers and renters.โ€
