Bryan Heavey (1-5) and Hugh Flanagan (0-7) were significant figures for The Bouncers.

In Knocklong, Blackrock were snug 1-19 to 0-15 victors over Bruff.

Itโ€™s interesting to note that the victors here have Jimmy Quilty as player-manager, who for good measure knocked over a couple of frees.

The Rockies had Colm Oโ€™Keeffe (1-5) as top scorer.

Also off to a good start are Granagh Ballingarry, who squeezed out Glenroe, 1-18 to 0-19, at Kilmallockโ€™s Fitzgerald Park.

A timely goal from Seรกnย Oโ€™Connor (1-3) at the dawn of the closing quarter was key to the win for the west side.

Round two will happen over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
