IN a three-year deal, property developers Whitebox have been unveiled as the new sponsor of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship.
It has major plans to fill the void in the housing market, and flagship county manager John Kiely was impressed by such plans unveiled by the company at Mondayโs launch.
โIt was great to get a full insight from the Whitebox team in relation to their plans for developments across Limerick and further afield,โ he commented.
โThey are going to be a game changer for Limerick in relation to accommodation, in particular, and delivery of healthcare through their plans for Ballygrennan on Limerickโs north side.
โThese developments will deliver huge social and economic change across Limerick, aside altogether from the fact that they will be helping alleviate two of the city and countyโs biggest needs, housing and healthcare.โ
The company, headquartered at Riverpoint on Lower Mallow Street, is headed up by Martin White.
โAs a lifelong Limerick GAA fan, Iโm proud that we have been able to take up this opportunity,โ he said.
โThis is one of the greatest club championships in either hurling or football but what particularly pleases us a company is that we know that this investment is effectively going to help with the promotion of the game right across Limerick, including in areas that are not strongholds of the game.
โWe are in the business of building communities, including in more marginalised areas with our developments, and Limerick GAA has big plans for promoting the game in such areas as well. So, we see this as something more than just supporting hurling. Itโs about supporting communities.โ
โWhiteboxโs DNA is in Limerick; they are huge fans of the Limerick GAA, so we see this as a great fit,โ stated Seamus McNamara, Limerick Chairman.
