TREATY United and Irish soccer star on the rise Madison McGuane (15) will star in a new three-part documentary series on RTÉ this Thursday (July 31).
The midfielder features on the Treaty United senior squad and the U17s Irish national team.
She was the only girl on the U12 Pike Rovers team who won the National Cup in 2022. Earlier this year, she won the Women’s U17 International Player of the Year award.
The new RTÉ series, Football Families, aims to “lift the lid on the family life behind Ireland’s most talented young footballers”.
Speaking in the documentary Madison said: “Not many girls are interested in football or want to be going out with the boys. And I just did it, I was always with the boys playing soccer.”
Much of Football Families explores the importance of support from parents behind these talented young players.
Madison’s mother Marion said the young star “gives 110 percent in everything she does on an off the pitch. I know no matter where life takes her, she will always be humble and kind.”
Also featuring in the series is Treaty United owner Ciara McCormack, a former professional footballer and Ireland international.
The documentary will air at 10.10pm on RTÉ One this Thursday.
