Almost half a million in funding for Limerick artists and arts groups

SEVEN Limerick artists and art organisations are in the frame for funding of €419,675 from the Arts Council.

A total of 218 applicants are now to receive funds from the Arts Grant Funding scheme, representing a national investment of €17.1million to support arts activities across Ireland.

Arts Grant Funding is one of a number of funding schemes through which the Arts Council invests in artists, organisations, and arts infrastructure.

The announcement comes at a time of unprecedented demand for the Arts Council’s funding schemes, with 7,568 eligible applications received across all schemes last year.

Recipients in Limerick include Askeaton Contemporary Arts CLG (€70,000), Light Moves Festival Of Screendance (€30,000), Limerick Jazz Society (€25,000), Ormston House (€200,000), Sans Press (€20,000), D’or Seifer,(€4,675), and the Limerick Theatre And Performance Hub (€70,000).
