New music from God Knows

LIMERICK-Zimbabwean rapper God Knows has unveiled his latest single, โ€˜Misplaced Empathyโ€™, a raw and introspective track marking the third release from his forthcoming debut solo album, A Future of the Past, set for release on September 26 via narolane records.

The single delves into themes of personal growth, accountability, and self-awareness. โ€œโ€˜Misplaced Empathyโ€™ is about reflecting on how far Iโ€™ve come, acknowledging my blessings, and taking responsibility for my missteps,โ€ the artist shared. โ€œIt felt freeing to write โ€“ I hope itโ€™s freeing to listen to.โ€

A Future of the Past represents a new chapter for the former Rusangano Family member, whose groundbreaking work on Let The Dead Bury The Dead earned the 2016 Choice Music Prize โ€“ the first hip-hop album to win the award. The upcoming album weaves together creative threads from Zimbabwe, New York, Dublin, Shannon, and West Africa, offering a bold and expansive sonic journey.

Produced by MuRli with guitar from Danny Latham, and co-written with Gift Madolo, โ€˜Misplaced Empathyโ€™ is a striking preview of what promises to be one of the yearโ€™s most anticipated releases.
