Limerick academics awarded prestigious Fulbright prizes

Limerick Academics Dr Carmel Hinchion and Dr Niamh O'Brien were awarded with Fulbright prizes.

TWO Limerick locals received prestigious Fulbright awards to research, study, and teach with leading experts in their field the USA.

The Fulbright bilateral exchange programme serves to strengthen international relations by facilitating academic and cultural exchanges globally for over 79 years.

Associate Professor of Education (Emeritus) at the University of Limerick, Dr Carmel Hinchion, will facilitate an arts and education project with the Maxine Greene Institute, New York.

Meanwhile, Dr Niamh O’Brien will travel to the University of Colorado Boulder to explore the work of Irish folklore and traditional music collectors through the lens of media theory.
