ONCE invincible Patrickswell are in trouble after a couple of rounds in the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship.

The โ€˜Well lead the roll of honour with an impressive 20 titles, but are a rank outside bet to increase that tally in 2025.

At the weekend, Declan Oโ€™Gradyโ€™s side were well beaten, 3-23 to 0-14, by first-time champions Doon at Kilmallockโ€™s Fitzgerald Park.

had timely goals from Chris Thomas, Kevin Maher and Pat Ryan Simon.

In the opening round, the โ€˜Well fell to Kilmalock.

Those results leave Patrickswell periously close a dreaded drop from the top tier.

Elsewhere, Na Piarsaigh were comfortable 0-21 to 1-10 winners over Ballybrown.

Kevin Downes fired over eight points for Shane Oโ€™Neillโ€™s team.

And, a trio of late points from Shane Oโ€™Brien (2) and Conor Staunton rescued an unlikely draw for Kilmallock against plucky Ahane.

Oโ€™Brien hit an impressive 1-7 for Kilmallock, matched by Ahaneโ€™s Tom Morrissey (0-10).

Technically, all six sides are in contention for four qualification berths.

Only two teams qualify from Group Two, and the pecking order is: Monaleen (4 points), Kildimo Pallaskenry, KP, (3), Mungret St Paulโ€™s (2), Newcastle West (2), Adare (1) and Dromin Athlacca (0).

For KP, five-time All-Star Kyle Hayes was forced-off injured in the early stages of a drawn encounter with Newcastle West.
