A PROPOSAL has been made by Social Democrats councillor Shane Hickey-O’Mara for the Council to plant a row of trees along the road between the Tesco roundabout and the entrance to Ferndale to act a as a carbon offset for the Coonagh-Knockalisheen Road.
Cllr Hickey-O’Mara told Council management that this will improve air quality for local residents, absorb noise pollution, and increase privacy for residents living in Ferndale.
The City North representative has been informed that an extensive landscaping plan is included in the Coonagh to Knockalisheen Road Project which includes the provision of over 3,000 trees.
